I’ve surrendered to my cascade of thoughts and given up on sleep. I won’t call for you if you don’t welcome me, dear sleep.
So you know what, sleep? I’ll stop wanting you because you never let me in when I knock. I have to beg and plea for your grace when others abuse you with their pills and pot. I never asked for you to forsake me with insomnia, yet you have. I would never ask of you to give me more than what I acquire, yet you withhold.
I’ll stay up as long as it takes for you to realize that you’ll always come back, you’ll never leave, we’re a dysfunctional couple that always fights and argues but never lasts long enough in a breakup.
I hate you too, sleep, I really do.
